First of all, the word “Bit” represents Gwangju city, which is a light village and “Yeoul” is a pure Korean meaning “stream” and these two words are combined to create the name. - It was named in imagination of the dazzling scene of a clean and clear stream with a bright sun light.
- I hope the drinking water with the light of Gwangju can also show all people the beautiful image of Gwangju.


- The character of the Office of Waterworks, Gwangju Metropolitan City is designed based on the motive of Gwangju, the light village. “Yeowury” and “Bangwury” symbolize the clean and clear drinking water of Gwangju and represent the vision and will of Gwangju City for drinking water.
- The character of “Yeowury” and “Bangwury” are used as symbols for many visual mass media of the Office of Waterworks, Gwangju Metropolitan City and they give friendly feeling to the citizens.



- The Office of Waterworks, Gwangju Metropolitan City is supplying drinking water in PET bottles produced by own facilities to inform the safeness and to induce changes of citizens recognition on drinking water.
- To supply the PET bottles for drinking water, a manufacturing facility was installed in Dong-gu Yongyeon Water Treatment Plant equipped with automatic production facility.
- Waters are supplied in two sizes, 350 mL and 1,800 mL. We are planning to introduce the safeness and excellence of the drinking water by providing the best quality “Bityeoulsu”.
